In 2 Samuel 1-27, David receives news of the death of Jonathan. In mourning, David composed a lamentation :

How the mighty have fallen
in the midst of the battle!

Jonathan lies slain upon your high places.

When Hephaestion left him, Alexander the Great’s grief was so uncontrollable that he soon followed his friend into the afterlife 8 months later.

In the Captive Prince, Laurent held his brother safe in his heart while avenging his death after the Battle of Marlas.

I am that one voice
In the cold wind that whispers
And if you listen
You’ll hear me call across the sky…

I will still be here
As long as you hold me
In your memory” – James Horner
